Special Baking Contests

Welcome, Pennsylvania Bakers! Get ready to showcase your best treats! We invite all amateur bakers residing in PA to enter our contests. There is a limit of one (1) entry per person, per contest and pre-registration is NOT required -- just bring your entry at the requested time on contest day!

PA Preferred logo

PA Preferred® Jr. Baking Contest -- Cookies, Brownies & Bars

Encouraging young people ages 8 to 18 across PA to participate in our agricultural fairs by showcasing at least two (2) PA Preferred® or locally produced ingredients in their contest entries. Our winner will represent Schnecksville Community Fair at the PA Farm Show held next January.

PA's Incredible! Angel Food Cake Contest

This contest is open to PA bakers of all ages. Be sure that the cake and any fillings and frostings are made from scratch with edible ingredients. Include eggs that were produced in Pennsylvania, if possible. Our winner will represent Schnecksville Community Fair at the PA Farm Show held next January.

Houser Auctioneers Youth Cupcake Contest

Houser Auctioneers is a long-time sponsor of this contest getting young people (ages 8 to 18) into the kitchen to showcase their baking and decorating skills on the year’s fair theme.

New Tripoli Bank Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest

The apple pie, including fillings and crust, must be made from scratch with edible ingredients. The filling must use at least 60% apples and does not need to be a “traditional” two crusted pie. Our winner will represent Schnecksville Community Fair at the PA Farm Show held next January.

Refreshing Rhubarb Dessert Contest

Baked or chilled, this Schnecksville Community Fair contest showcases a broad variety of tasty desserts featuring the tang of fresh rhubarb, which is reaching its peak across the Lehigh Valley.

The Neffs National Bank Homemade Chocolate Cake Contest

This competition features “scratch” made layer cakes, fillings, and frostings with edible ingredients. The focus is taste, but decorations are judged as well. The entry must be a frosted layered chocolate cake featuring chocolate or cocoa as a main ingredient. Our winner will represent Schnecksville Community Fair at the PA Farm Show held next January.
